Required areas of study
A private high-school program must address the branches of study identified for grades 7–12 in California Education Code Section 51220. Course planning should make that coverage visible.
Attendance and records
California’s private-school framework includes attendance, course-of-study, faculty, and student-record responsibilities. Families should ask how records and transcripts are maintained.
Local obligations
An in-person site may also be subject to local health, safety, occupancy, and business requirements. These are separate from the state affidavit process.
What the filing means
Registration is not state approval.
The California Department of Education states that filing a Private School Affidavit does not constitute approval, endorsement, validation, certification, or accreditation. The department does not verify the information in the filing.
Accreditation is a separate, voluntary review by an independent accrediting organization. Golden Coast International should only describe an accreditation or affidavit as current when families can verify that status directly.
